2 Important Tips Before Creating Your Online Business

Over the last half-decade, I cannot recall how many times people have asked me what I do for a living. Even in my respective industries I have people asking me at nearly every trade-show, “How did you do that” or “How can I accomplish that”. Now, I consider myself a pretty simple man so I’m not going to throw you through a bunch of hoops here. It doesn’t matter if you are an affiliate, an advertiser, a blogger or (insert whatever here). If you want to start an online business, then look at these two things.

1. If you are going to look at competitors for inspiration and ideas then look past their success. Anyone can go out an copy a landing page and think they are going to be as successful as the person they copied it from. My god, I ran an affiliate network for over 3 years. The amount of bitching and moaning about other affiliates “stole my landing page”, “Shut them down Ruck” was pretty ridiculous. That tends to happen when the lure of the money clouds reasonable logic. Everyone wants the short-cut to success, but hardly anyone is willing to work for it. Well, no matter what, if you are going to look at competitors or around the internet my tip is to:

Create something of value, but do it better than what’s out there

Apply this to any offer, any product and every service you promote. However, before you do that, you need to consider my next tip here.

2. Make sure your can reach a potential audience that will take action (spend money). If your target market is broke, going to be a little hard to monetize them right? This is called due diligence and again it comes back to people looking at other people and thinking they can achieve the same amount of success if they just “copy their plan”. Well, you might score some cash here and there and even last a few years online but mark my words, that shit gets old. Waking up everyday to “hustle the game”, gets old and god forbid something bad happen to you or you face a burnout and cannot carry your business on like usual. The decline will do nothing but put you in a sour state of mind and we all know how hard it is to work then, don’t we?

If  you do things like other people do, you will only be as good as them. If you are happy with that, then by all means, you must have it figured out right? Think outside the box, step out of your comfort zone. You want to own a market? You will need to work smart, marketer more efficiently and ultimately have a pair between your legs that tells competitors “To hell with you, I’m getting a piece of this too”.

This is one of the reasons why there are so many forums out there full of dis-information. It was horrible when I came online. Anytime you surround yourself with like-minded, and/or small online business minded people, you can expect nearly the same results. A few successes here and there but in the end if you really stick to it, you will truly learn what it takes to be start a real online business.
