“Quality” Content Is King – My Thoughts On Google Panda

I’ve tried to say it for years now. How many times have you heard that “Content is King”. That has been and will always be a misconception stemmed from speculation, lack of REAL SEO knowledge and basic babbling from people who think they know what they are talking about. I’ve been asked countless times over the last few weeks to weigh in with my opinions on Google Panda.
It case you didn’t know, Google Panda is Google’s way of cleaning all the duplicate content, auto-blogging and basically shit that isn’t useful from their Search Engine. Take notice, if you have been bitching that you lost rankings and revenue, that energy is better used on fixing the issues you are facing, not griping about them.
Am I an SEO Expert? No. Is there such a thing? In my opinion, No.
Now there are people who know a lot about search engine optimization. Trust me, I’ve been to SMX and SES Conferences. Nothing against them but to find 6-7 figure monthly revenue earners from marketers and entrepreneurs who rely solely on SEO is like picking a needle out of a haystack. I’m in this game to advertise and make money, but I go about in a different way than most marketers online.
Some people just don’t get it.
So, allow me to break it to you real smooth like.
But first, I have to tell you. I literally accomplish my SEO rankings with:
- content
- wordpress
- 3 plugins
- social sharing strategy
That’s fucking it. Do I go for crazy ass keywords? Hell no. I’ve been in the game for over a half-decade. I know that if you are “remarkeable” and produce “remarkeable” content, well then the Google gods will reward you. It’s that fucking simple. Anybody that tells you otherwise can step up to the plate and put 1/2 million in revenue just from this site alone which is only a little over 4 months old. A little proof in the pudding if you will for some first page google rankings:
#1, #2, #3, and #4 spots on the 1st page of google for “lead generation arbitrage”
You see, even though Google takes in how your site structure is setup and how useful your site is overall, the basic gist of it all is that “PAGES” get ranked for keywords. How useful are your pages? I know for these topics alone, if I had to go count the words, there is probably over 10,000 words alone on those pages providing useful information and education.
Say bye, bye to your shitty Amazon, Ebay or whatever product listing generated pages with the same content. If you haven’t been cleaned out just yet, sit tight “sugar”…it’s coming.
The time of shitty content and being lazy is upon you. It’s time for the rapture and wrath and all that bad karma that comes with trying to game the system. Good SEO’s will have their traffic increase, bad SEO’s will try to beat Google, game the system and/or chase the “next big thing” to getting on the first page of Google.
Google wants to return useful sites for every query. They have been telling us for years too; we just keep refusing to listen. If your site is not useful, that is your problem not Google’s. Take a look at your business model, re-evaluate your strategies, and take a good objective look at your site.
A good question to ask yourself is instead of “how can I rank for this keyword”, ask yourself “what would I WANT to see if I searched this keyword”. If you can put that together, make sense of it and ultimately “practice” it, I will almost guarantee you that you will see an increase instead of a decrease in your results.
It’s just that fucking simple. The greatest way to acquire money, is to not chase it.
That’s my thoughts on Panda. Plain and simple. They’ve been saying it for years and now that it’s being implemented, everyone is like “oh fuck, I just lost my ranking”, or “shit, there goes my $800 a month amazon cookie cutter site”.
I have to quote Search Engine Journal here in my closing because it’s perfect:
Remember: for every website that gets hit by an algorithm change, another one benefits. The trick is to be that website. Instead of blaming Google when your rankings drop, you should thank them for all the free business they sent your way and set about figuring out how to make your site more worthy of that useful rating.
Update: 11 Minutes later I go on the 1st page of google for “Content is King” and “Google Panda”
