I wish I could get a dollar for every time someone has asked me this. Especially, at this last Affiliate Summit, I would have made a “killin”.
The truth is this. How much money does it take to be successful in ANY business? Or project for that matter.
The people asking this question are typically doomed from the start. They are “optimists” and not realists. They are the dreamers, not the doer’s. Now, not all of them. But about 98% of the ones I meet are. And, I meet a shitload of them.
The facts are this:
If you have NO, and I mean NO FUCKING idea what it’s going to cost you would that stop you from going forward and getting started as a Mobile CPA Affiliate?
Maybe, but I bet more people would proceed forward by not knowing, versus getting a grip on their own fears and investments woes.
So, How Much Money Does It Take To Be Successful As A Mobile CPA Affiliate?
When I’ll be blunt and say at minimum, you need to set aside:
- Invest in a Dedicated Server (at least)
- Invest in a mobile ad tracking solution. I could go tell you to invest in iMobiTrax. But, I find it much, much more enjoyable when people read me promote my own product above everyone else’s and figure I’m just providing a biased opinion. It makes it that much fucking sweeter when they realize how much of a dumbass they were and of course all the money they flushed down the drain with “their better idea” anyway. Call me sick, I enjoy it when customers tell me how bad they fucked up before finding us. Either way, you need a reliable mobile ad tracking solution.
- You need to be able to create Text Ads, Banners, and Landing Pages – In other words, you need some skills in adcopy, copywriting, design and a touch of programming. Sure you could go ahead and outsource all this, just know that the people who really sit down and grind out all the details themsleves are the ones I see with the most success. I always see those “business oriented management” type guys try to outsource their ads, landing pages and stuff to people they’ve never met. Let alone, these guys never learned it themselves. Why people will never understand – You can teach someone what you know, unless you’ve mastered it yourself – truly baffles me.
- Testing Budget – Sure I’ve seen people walk in with $500 total for ad testing budget and walk away winners. I see it all the time actually. However, what you may not know is the HERDS of people who BELIEVE that and it doesn’t work for them. Some people pick it up, some don’t. That’s just the way it is. Mobile CPA Affiliate marketing takes a bit of a higher intelligence level than what we are accustomed to in performance advertising. That’s not knocking anyone, that’s simply the way it is. If you were to start ANY OTHER business venture at just $500 offline or online, seriously – What do you expect?
But, with $1,000 or more, that’s the typical level of budgets we see first time mobile affiliate marketers starting out with AFTER they have invested in the solutions that make Returns on those investments possible. You will still accumulate costs in domains, design work sometimes, resources you manage and time. These are really little if you are serious about testing Mobile CPA Offers, the typical budget of a starting affiliate is $1,000 in capital.
Just make sure you are working with a reputable Mobile Affiliate Manager who is going to show you returns on your campaign investments. This is actually where 99% of the people who make it this far fall prey too. But, that’s for another post.
