If you’ve noticed on the blog, live chat has been installed and while we are still working with the system and optimizing how to best utilize it, I can tell you that it’s a great feature that is quick, easy and efficient as a way to communicate with visitors who have questions.
Bold Chat recently released their annual report on the effectiveness of live chat and it is packed with great information. One aspect that I wanted to highlight is a chart on the situations that live chat is preferred over phone and email. The fact that chat is a way to get instant feedback is a strength and as you can see in the chart a main driver in its use. Personally I prefer live chat to phone or email. The instant communication and knowledge that someone is available instantly makes it my first choice when interacting with a website.
Live chat is often thought of as a tool for e-commerce sites, and while that is an important use, it can be used on pretty much any type of site where interaction could help a visitor.
