LinkedIn Launches Video Ad Units For Advertisers
You read the headline correctly – New ad units are coming to LinkedIn! An announcement by LinkedIn revealed that they are incorporating 300×250 video ads into the professional social network framework.
With a reach of 175 million, these new video ad units have the same potential as other ad formats. Within the LinkedIn ad auction space, the new video ads will be competing for inventory amongst all existing text and image based ads. With a minimum of $2.00 per click on the LinkedIn paid advertising platform, look for competition to get fierce with the edge that video has with potential consumers. When an end user clicks the video ad unit, a 30 second video will play within the 300×250 ad unit.
At the end of play, the end user can be directed to the associated landing page or website of the ad. The cool part – advertisers who have a presence on YouTube will have the ability to use their existing videos within their LinkedIn video ads.
Similar to other paid advertising platforms, LinkedIn video advertisers will have full control of their budgets, price paid per click or view, and run times.
Should be fun to watch how this shakes out on the worlds largest professional social network. Are you jumping in?
