I sure do love a good buyout or a private company getting a big chunk of money in financing. SurveyMonkey did just that. They just raised an enormous amount of financing. $800M!
They raised approximately $450 million in equity financing and $350 million in debt financing to give its shareholders some returns. This is one of the largest capital raises by a privately-held US internet company.
We’ve used SurveyMonkey on/off for over a year now, before switching over to Google Forms and I always liked them. This is pretty awesome news from a Company whom we consider immensely valuable in our space. SurveyMonkey has been around since 1999 and now more than 14 million users, including huge Fortune 100 brands like Facebook, Audi, and Samsung. All of the $800 million will go to shareholders, as SurveyMonkey has enough cash to support its own growth and acquisition agenda.
