These days, if you are not out there on your Grind every day, learning as much as you can, about as much as you can, I almost feel sorry for you.
Seriously, it’s never been easier to start learning a new craft and build a better YOU everyday.
On the other hand, as people, our lives have never been more busy. From Technology, Social Media, Children (perhaps), Media, Work, Bills and we still have to entertain ourselves…It’s safe to say we have a lot of shit going on.
So how can we get caught up? Better yet, how can we get ahead?
I know it might sound like a cliche at first, so just read me out…You have to fucking focus. I mean really focus.
Here’s how I do it, try it for yourself and see if things don’t seem more organized and you have less stress in your life and business.
Be Aware Of Time
24 hrs in day. 168 hours a week.
Hopefully you are sleeping 7 hours a night. So now we’re talking about 17 hours a day and 119 hours a week MAX that you have to get shit done.
But, let’s be realistic. Some of us have families. Kids, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, social clubs we might belong too. All of this takes time AWAY from us.
Let’s add in technology in 2013 now. Now we have Apps, Games, Social Media Networks and all kinds of shit chipping away at our precious time.
When you look at people in general, on a spectrum timeline, from say – homeless bums to someone like Bill Gates and you REALLY FUCKING REALIZE – all these people had the same amount of time given to them, it doesn’t seem like such a far stretch to really focus on your own goals and go out there to get them accomplished. At least for me, it don’t.
I catch myself focusing on time, a lot more in my older years, than when I first started out. I’ve added structure, discipline, and automation to my business and life by not learning from the mistakes I made NOT focusing on time.
Less Planning, More Doing
It goes without saying, you should have a business plan BEFORE you even start doing any type of business online. Would you go to a new job not knowing what the job entails? I find it hard to believe there are still people out there who come online and do their research to start their own craft (business) online, but do not create a plan before jumping into it. I use to feel sorry for those people, but like I said in this day and age, if that person is you, stay the fuck away from me. You should know better. And if you don’t, you do now.
Too many people are over-thinkers and over-analyzers. I honestly can’t be around people like this. That’s not my chi. That’s not what I’m about and the fuckin universe says, we ain’t gonna jive so I just steer clear.
Get on your Grind and make shit happen. It’s never been easier to learn a new craft. There’s never been as many resources to learn a new craft as there is now. Like seriously, if you’re waiting around for it to get better – you will never win.
Remember when I talked about being aware of time and all the distractions we have? Now, let’s add in the over-thinking planner who has 6 hrs a night dedicated to his/her online business and uses 2 hrs of each night to plan out shit.
Seriously, on the Internet with mindmap software, Google Docs, storage space and all the tools available to us, if you are spending that time planning and not doing, all you will ever end up having is a vision. One you will never get to see with your own two eyes. That shit will always be in your head, from project to project, business to business, experience to experience.
Healthy mind, healthy grind and daily grit. That’s how you fucking win. At everything.
Do What’s Essential
Now, being realistic here, even with awesome focus and work ethic, you are going to have obstacles. That’s great too, you need them. I need you to have all sorts of shit come your way, so that this next part makes true sense to you.
When you find your back is against the wall, you’re behind on a deadline, or whatever else the Earth hurls your way, – ONLY DO WHAT’S ESSENTIAL.
Don’t over-plan, over-work or stretch yourself to thin. It’s great being at 100% and always on the Grind, but you have to be realistic with your mind and body. When you get in a tough spot just stop for a few minutes.
Focus on your time and the obstacle at head.
Create a quick plan – and fucking EXECUTE.
When problems arise – remain calm and do what’s essential. Do only what has to be done.
If you dig down in your core and really put this post to use for you, I will guarantee you that life and business will start flowing a lot smoother. Now, it might take you a few days to get this together, but try getting this done and into action before the weekend. I’ve been able to phenomenally increase my productivity on the weekends. This is the actual time I do all of my planning. If you can do your planning on the weekends and keep your time and energy focused like this during the week, you will be accomplishing more than you thought was possible.
