Are you an aspiring photographer? What about a serial picture snapper? Maybe you are just insanely addicted much like tens of millions of other people with the simple but fascinating Instagram.
Whatever it may be, when there is a hot site or app out there, there will always be opportunities to use it to the masses advantage.
That’s just what Instaprint is offering Instagram photographers. Coming on Monday, photographers will be able to sell their photos as canvas prints, framed prints, acrylic prints, greeting cards and posters.
Instagram has brought the nostalgia of old Polaroid prints back to modern day, but deep down we all still miss the uniqueness of those square little photos you’d hold comfortably in your hand.
Each Instaprint box is set with its location or a specific hashtag. Any Instagram tagged with that location or hashtag will pop out of the Instaprint box, giving you a modern day photo booth. To stay true to the old days, Instaprint uses a new inkless printing. Similar to how instant film once worked, the color for the prints comes from the paper itself. No ink necessary.
Instaprints charges a base price for each type of product, then sellers can mark up each image they sell as they see fit. For instance, an 8×8 canvas print has a $25 base fee. If you decide to sell a photo for $45, then you would earn $20 for selling that print. Payments are made via PayPal or check on the 15th of each month for all sales that occurred on or before the 15th of the previous month. Instaprints also includes community features, which let users do things such as follow their favorite photographers, participate in online discussions, advertise local events, chat live with other members and comment on their favorite photos.
Not my cup of tea but is definitely something interesting I’m sure the Instagram junkies will love. Getting paid for the photos you already love to take. It’s a no-brainer. What do you think?
