Facebook’s Quarter 3 Advertising Revenues Up 36%

Facebook announced today that in quarter three they made $1.09 billion in advertising, a 36% increase from the same quarter last year.  This is also an increase from quarter two’s $992 million in advertising revenue.  Here is a break down of their revenue:

Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg commented, “The goal of our advertising business is to get users to interact.”  Over the last quarter they have implemented a number of new ad units including: Custom Audiences, Facebook Exchange, Offers (their daily deals) and, of course, mobile ads.  You’ve likely noticed the recommended mobile apps that have been showing up in your newsfeed on their mobile application.  They accounted for 14% of their revenue in quarter two or $152.6 million.

As of this writing Facebook’s stock (NASDAQ: FB) is up over 10% in after-hours trading.
