Affiliate Marketing In 2011- What’s Hot?

Daily I’m asked by affiliate marketers of all skill level “what’s hot”? As the years pass many affiliates, especially those in the CPA space, find themselves on a constant roller coaster to sustain consistent profits. Offers come and go, traffic sources inflict new regulations, and obviously, competition increases. Things today are harder than they were yesterday and they’ll be harder than today, tomorrow. That’s what happens when an opportunity such as the Internet grows at such a steady rate and new technology continues to emerge (I never thought I could be blogging from phone).

Reflecting back on my own career, I’ve unconsciously adapted to change as profits fluctuate. I’m big on goal setting and when I drop below my target goal I immediately evaluate the situation to see how it can be obtained. From large scale media buys, to social media, SEO, cost per view, and email marketing, I WILL reach the goal I’m aiming for (that’s why I can say I’ve “done it all”).

One avenue I suggest to a lot of affiliates is Lead Generation Arbitrage websites. While I typed a brief post highlighting this technique, I really enjoy the amount of creativity I’m able to explore. Essentially a lead generation arbitrage website is the first step to “owning your own lead gen.” You capture data (name, email address, etc.) and pass it through a “conversion funnel.” You’re not limited to anyone CPA offer or monetization technique. You’re also not limited to any particular traffic source or an astronomical budget.

Affiliates that have built large email lists and monetized them correctly through auto-followup sequences can tell you how much ROI can be sustained for one confirmed, targeted lead (double optin). Not only can you utilize this technique with your Lead Gen site but you can also combine it with CPA offer walls on the front-end (before email confirmation) and on the back end.

Traffic can essentially be free/very cheap. I’ve seen some guys promote Lead Gen offers with ONLY search engine optimize and sustain amazing revenues ($XX,XXX a day). If you want instant traffic you can utilize daily budget capping at pay-per-click and cost-per-view networks. There are a million different options including combinations.

While this all may sound a little complicated it’s actually relatively easy. Ruck and I have both known many people that made their first $1 online with a lead gen site with very little HTML/web knowledge. With web hosts offering one click installs on many of the popular software applications and the availability of online WYSIWYG editors, nothing is the “huge mystery” it once was.

Obviously the next step to this would become an “advertiser” and begin generating leads from affiliate networks and eventually developing your own products. Long gone are the days where a simple “bridge page” (ripped from your competitor) will sustain success. On the other hand, the days of making “serious money” have only began…
