Alert: Attention Houston, we have a problem. There’s no official word yet, nor will there be but the consensus in the performance marketing industry of marketers pushing shitty dating ads and other offers that Google doesn’t find provide a useful experience to it’s users is that the “banhammer” is swinging down. We’re no saints here either. We have a variety of campaigns running with Admob but it was just 1 campaign…yes 1 campaign that cost us one of our accounts. Lucky for us we know how to get around that annoying shit but this is just a shout-out. D-day for Admob is coming and it’s coming quickly. Pay attention to the warning and clean them accounts up right now (if you have crap running, you know what I’m talking about) or face a
severed head, terminated account.
I was hoping this was just hear-say from marketers whom I know online who are running on Admob but no. I’ve been on the phone a couple of times this evening and it’s a widespread “house-cleaning” going through Admob (probably because of the Google merge). So hide yo wife, hide yo kids but most importantly, hide those short-term cash cows that don’t really offer a useful experience to anyone.
