87% Of The World’s Population Has A Mobile Phone And Nearly 30 Billion Apps Have Been Downloaded Worldwide

Mobile use just continues to shoot upwards and mobile marketing has been hot over at Revived Media this year. You’ll see why in just a minute.

As the mobile user base grows, so do the demands of mobile users. This is excellent news for us mobile marketers!

The following infographic not only shows the magnitude of the audience, but also the ways in which mobile marketing, advertising and content providers can meet the demands of users worldwide.

Some of the most interesting points I caught:

  • Approximately 6 Billion mobile cellular subscriptions globally at the end of 2011
  • 22 apps is the average of downloaded apps for smartphone users in the US
  • (This is IMPORTANT) – 5 seconds is the max time most mobile users will wait for a website or application to load. 74% will leave a mobile website if it doesn’t load within 5 seconds and 50% will exit out of an app.

Thanks for the reply, I'll talk to them tonight.

Timezone discrepancy maybe? Delayed reporting during non-working hours? Also, with Jumptap or any other traffic source for that matter, none of them are transparent as to how/when your ads are delivered. IF you want to email me a screenshot and wipe out the campaign info I could take a look. Up to you. Have you spoken with Reps from both Jumptap and Neverblue? What have they said? Let me know, and I'll contact both of mine as well and see if we can get you a straight answer. Best – Ruck

One thing I noticed with mobile marketing is that from 12-18:00 the amount of clicks that show up in my NeverBlue account is about 40% of the amount of clicks JumpTap shows. But when I run the same traffic with the same ads, 100% of clicks show up between 16:00 and 23:00

Why do you think this is?
