For all you Grinders, requesting more personal posts from us, here ya go.
The question in the email was: “Ruck since you can go anywhere, anytime, where do you want to go?”
But, I do have my bucket-list of places I would like to see. Here’s 5 of them off the top of my head.
Because I hear it’s awesome.
2. Herculaneum, Naples, Italy
In the summer of a.d. 79, Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried the small, wealthy Roman seaside resort of Herculaneum in searing ash and rock. Archaeological excavations have uncovered private villas, shops, bathhouses, and a fascinating range of everyday objects.
3. The Crimean Peninsula
The Crimean Peninsula, with its voluptuously curved Black Sea coast of sparkling cliffs, is paradise—with Riviera-grade vistas but without Riviera prices. Balmy with 300 days of sun a year (“It is never winter here,” said the writer Anton Chekhov, who had a dacha near Yalta), the place served as the playground of tsars and Politburo fat cats. Russians practically wept when, after the breakup of the Soviet Union, Crimea was pulled out of the orbit of Russian rule and became part of an independent Ukraine.
4. The coast of Fair Isle, Scotland
I’m actually merging my hunt for the Lochness Monster into this trip
Hoping to catch this fucker,
5. Li River, China
The 51-mile (83-kilometer) stretch of the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo cities in China has inspired writers and artists for thousands of years. Here the Li River snakes through a fairy-tale landscape of conical limestone peaks, its smooth waters exquisitely mirroring the magical scenery.
